| The Attakapas Princess is a new 20' luxury pontoon boat. She can accommodate up to 14 adventurers, but we will go out with a group as small as two making it an even more personal tour. I can raise the top to block the sun on warmer days and an ice chest is always on board filled with free drinks and bottled water. Coast Guard approved Life jackets and a first aid kit are on board as well as a cell phone for any emergency. Other things to do in the area While in the area you can visit historic Madewood Plantation, a beautiful antebellum home built in 1848 now serving as a bed and breakfast. You may also want to see the ivy covered Protestant church built in 1837 which once housed Union soldiers as a make-shift hospital during the civil war. In Napoleonville you will find yourself in the heart of the sugar cane and seafood industry. Cooking and eating is what we're good at. Come taste fresh boiled crawfish, crabs or shrimp. Call me to find out what's in season. And of course Louisiana Poboys, jambalaya, gumbo and fried seafood are always on the menu. |
Napoleonville is located approximately 1 hour south of Baton Rouge and 1 hour west of New Orleans on La. 1. From Interstate 10 take exit 182 at Sorrento to Hwy. 70 to cross Sunshine Bridge. After crossing the bridge stay in left lane. When road forks, merge to left. Continue on Hwy. 70 to Spur 70 then on to La. 1 South to Napoleonville. Turn right onto Hwy. 401 for 10 miles to Attakapas Landing at Lake Verret . |
